3.5 rounding down. Don’t get me wrong, Roxane Gay is brilliant and I love her storytelling. She is relatable and brings up some interesting questions. Perhaps it’s more of a matter of expectations, but I just wish I walked away feeling like I had a bit more fresh insight on writing trauma itself as an art form.
