Reader, Come Home: The Reading Brain in a Digital World by Maryanne Wolf

2.0

This book is preaching to the choir and thus remains wholly unconvincing. Wolf seems to believe that literacy’s most important offering is a social mobility that’s also supposed to somehow serve as an empathetic development. What gets across is the idea that reading is only about gaining power, yet that power is limited to simply pitying and feeling for the “Other.”
