Finally reading Harry Potter for the first time at the age of  25!! I knew I loved these characters already, but they are so much more lovable in the books. Although it does hurt my heart for how much worse my buddy Neville has it in the books. He really deserved that little bit of redemption at the end. The book is nearly an exact play by play of movie 1, but it’s so much more valuable to get the insight of what exactly is going on in Harry’s head and get that tiny bit of exact information. Going into it, it is so important to know that this book is written for children. The pacing is wild with too many pages being dedicated to his time with the Dursley’s and a chapter to wrap up the entire ending. Even with it being meant for kids, you are really expecting me to believe that 3 11 year olds could get past traps set by every professor at the school?! Like cmon. Overall, it’s heartwarming, but a pretty average book when ignoring the popularity behind it.
