I enjoyed the book to an extent, though the main characters are around 17 and that is definitely the target audience age range, so it probably would have been more impactful if I hadn't read this in my adult stage. Ultimately, it was a cute, idyllic story, even if the one-day romance was a little too far-fetched for me.
I loved the diverse topics that were tackled though! You hardly ever see stories about illegal immigrant families in mainstream YA, or about growing up second generation immigrant, let alone in the same book. That was wonderful, and very tastefully done.
