I just reread this and still really enjoyed it. I think when I read it the first time I had not read as much historical fiction so I gave it 5 stars back then, but now I dropped it a star just in comparing it to other books, but I still highly recommend it, it is quite a fascinating perspective on the French revolution and the life of Josephine Boneparte and I always love books written from the journal/letter perspective.
