The Diviners by Libba Bray

4.0

This book was DELICIOUS. The setting was everything - so unique and different to anything I've read before, Bray expertly weaves the nuances of the 1920s authentically throughout the book to enhance the reader's experience. The characters were well developed, diverse and realistic. Although the main character was compelling, I was not always sympathetic to her plight and yet this quality makes me like her more. Brilliant writing on Bray's part. The plot was interesting, albeit mildly convoluted and seemingly convenient at certain points. A very solid read that made a lasting impact.
