Ancillary Mercy by Ann Leckie

Ok! I liked this one, finally. the two books did finally come together into some sort of point that wasn't just colonialism is bad (although of course that's still there). Would I have liked it better if it had just been some massive 1000 page book where the first two thirds weren't particularly interesting? Yeah maybe. At least that way you miss the redescribing of everything at the beginning of each book. I think also this third was vastly improved by the translator who brings some levity to the straight man narration of the main character. I can't say I'd read them all again, but at least I'm not disappointed that I spent all that time reading it now.
