i'm trying to figure out why no one talks about this PKD novel. i really liked it. it's pared down and really lean - no alien invasions, no abject drug addiction, no space ships ... instead it feels like a top-drawer TWILIGHT ZONE or OUTER LIMITS ... suburban life in america in the late 1950's, and something is just not quite right and that feeling just bubbles along until the last 40 or 50 pages, when the climax builds into something that is hinted at, but well suppressed throughout. dang.
