A Heart That Works by Rob Delaney

4.0

4.5 Lovely, terrible little book. I found myself laughing constantly, which I hated. Because you feel the loss of little Henry without relief, yet Rob makes you cackle and smile throughout every scene.

But, I think Rob finds healing in that. He wants us to enter into his darkness and be robbed of something there just as he was robbed of something too. But his darkness isn’t one devoid of beauty—in fact it mingles with it. Every memory of Henry is found there, and there’s a comfort in that. I think that’s what he wanted us to see.
