This is full of beautiful prose and haunting imagery but it suffered from the too-short length of the story which made it cluttered and hard to understand beyond what I feel like the author was intending. The story deals with a lot of hard topics like suicide ideation, grief, relationship breakdowns, climate crisis, colonization and more but there isn't much space given for most of these topics to breathe and take root in the narrative so it felt unfinished and unfulfilling at the end.
