The Etymologicon: A Circular Stroll through the Hidden Connections of the English Language by Mark Forsyth

"Circular" is exactly the right description for this book :-) It was quite interesting, particularly for a word nerd like me. I listened to the audio version, though, and the narrator sounded...not quite bored, but he was certainly lacking in enthusiasm. By the end of the book, I didn't care all that much any more about the contents. If you read this one, get the print or ebook version and skip the audio.
