Having seen so many positive reviews I was eager to pick this book up. Sadly as with many acclaimed books this does not live up to the hype.
I didn’t like the main protagonist or Mrs S I could have cared less about what happened to them. Most of the book is a build up to the affair which is then rushed through.
Overall the writing style didn’t suit me at all. I gave it three stars because there was enough of a story that I finished.
