Caleste Ng is a queen of family drama story. I give 4 stars because its beautifully written, the description, the dialog, the characters, all of them are gorgeously written. But, the story of this broken family was just so so sad. As an asian family in 70s, they suffered and struggled from racism at school, work, society, etc. Every chapter saddens me, especially what happened to their childern, to Nath, Hannah & Lydia (for hannah she was almost forgotten that she existed). This book is all about secrets, resentment, anger, hopes, and regrets. To be honest, it was little hard to read and scary, especially if you haven't married yet, because you don't know what would happen after marriage and you have your own family
