This was a meaningful and non-sentimental coming-of-age story; I could almost go back in time to feel what that age felt like as a girl on the cusp of becoming a young woman and how quickly everything shifts and how difficult it is to keep your head above water while trying to hold onto yourself in that fast-moving current. I loved that the author captured so much feeling in a condensed world consisting of 160 pages—an admirable talent. This book struck a chord with me.
