An excellent book - albeit it's sometimes a wee bit obvious that Douglas has lived stateside for so long and the editor was maybe not a Weegie either. Do heed the content warnings here, this is the story of someone with a dark, difficult childhood. I think there's probably a depth to this book that only comes when you speak the same language as the characters in the book, but it will still be a cracking read for those who aren't so blessed and just speak English
