Girls keep going missing along Cold Creek Highway, a long stretch of highway nearly five hundred miles long. The town of Cold Creek erected a billboard warning women not to hitchhike, but women keep going missing. Is there something evil hiding in the mountains? Beth has come to Cold Creek in search of answers and Hailey is trying to leave Cold Creek to escape a dangerous home situation. Can they both get what they want before the highway comes for them?
I've loved Chevy Stevens since I read Still Missing and Dark Roads is another page turner. I loved Jonny and Hailey's relationship and could tell they had been friends for years. Beth was a relatable character and I could feel her loss as well. My favorite, of course, was Wolf. Everyone needs a faithful companion that will fight the good fight (or a cougar) for you.
I really liked the book and give it a solid four stars. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of the book in exchange for my honest and thoughtful review.
