A great read, particularly the latter half. Set through the 60s-80s following the lives of the children of a rock star who failed at being a husband and a father. I really loved the relationships between the Rivas and the reflection the story gave me about my own privilege of having two fantastic parents. It details the sacrifices that some children have to make when they are forced to grow up far too fast. I loved the commentary on found family and how we get to choose who we love and care for. This book creates some strong characters with familial love at the centre and I loved that. All whilst following the storyline of the ‘greatest party of the decade’.
Satisfactory ending? Mostly yeah.
