I actually thought this was a memoir and honestly that led to a great reading experience because it reads like one. It’s not chronological (in a way that lended itself to more impactful prose imo) but it does cover an indigenous 2 spirit’s journey from childhood to current mid-20s ish time all set in contemporary/modern time. This is a hard book to describe or summarize so that’s not my intention here. This is simply just a beautiful and beautifully written book, through the grit of it all.
