megelizabeth 's review for:
This Summer Will Be Different
by Carley Fortune
There were elements of this book that I liked, but sadly I just didn't massively connect with it overall or hugely care about the characters or the romance (in fact I was much more invested in the mystery subplot of what was going on with Bridget). I liked the setting and its summery vibes and I appreciated the handling of the third-act conflict and the messaging around needing to figure out who you are and what you want. I didn't dislike Lucy and Felix together but ultimately just didn't really care about them or their relationship.
(Honestly my favourite aspect of the book was the amount of references to Anne of Green Gables <3)
