I only finished this book because it's by an author who I loved growing up. I've read her books multiple times. I should have quit this book, because it was terrible, imo.
The MC was extremely unlikeable. Here's one example. She is a traffic warden. She comes across someone who has stopped to help a woman who had fallen down. MC gave that man a ticket. She's following the law, and he can follow the law and he can appeal it. Sure he can, but she's just wasted hours off of multiple peoples lives, for being a stick ass.
I really didn't care for the story either. There was nothing interesting about it, nothing magical (like a lot of her other books). It was just a boring story about a boring person.
Audiobook - narrator was pretty good.
