It was a good coming of age book, with unexpected twists. It made it more appealing to me that young lit normally does as half of the book was in their thirties. Even thought the ugly duckling hating the popular hot gut even though he's in love with her is a bit tired, I enjoyed the book. One of the very few young adult lit current reads that doesn't incorporate cringey dialog to make it relatable to young people.
