You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle
4.0
Okay, I thought this was just going to be fun and cute and bantery and whatnot. I went in expecting a silly How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days-like plot and instead got a sweet and much more deep/profound story than I expected. It reminded me of a more lighthearted version of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s After I Do (one of my favorite books) and I’m not at all mad about it.
I want to know, though, what does it say about me that I loved Naomi’s character? I know a lot of the bad reviews of this book are because “she’s so selfish” and whatever but I disagree. I resonated with her so much and I really think I would have done most of the same things she did if I was in her situation. She was dressing for revenge!
Speaking of Taylor Swift (yes, that previous line was a TS reference for all the non-swifties out there), this book — like After I Do — reminded me a lot of The Great War. Iykyk
“Relearning you has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
That’s all :). 4 stars.
