despite having some real winners here, overall im annoyed and feel slightly cheated by the anthology.
i went into this wanting to read some complete stories with HEA or HFN endings. i didn’t want to be left hanging and having to wait several months to a year for the rest of the story :/
if just a handful were set up like this, to be teasers to full-length novels later in the year, i wouldn’t have minded. but my god, one after the other after the other ended in “to be continued!” and “preorder the full length novel to see how it ends!”
at least be transparent about it in the beginning of each story! C.E. Ricci tells you in the beginning of Never Will I Ever that the story doesn’t have a conclusion so i skipped it! I wish all of them had done this because now that ive finished the anthology there were only a handful that were actual complete stories. the rest are teasers to full length books and i was so tired yall
