I just finished this book, and I feel completely gutted. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I will just suffice to say that while I feel strongly about the ending, it does suit the story. I need to own this book. I need to read it again very soon. I was surprised by how modern Lucy Snowe was, how much I sympathized with her. She has fast become one of my favorite heroines in literature.
