The story has potential but the FMC is insufferable. She loves this man but he’s holding her prisoner. She doesn’t seem to have an original thought. The story picked up in the last few chapters but I don’t understand the hype.

There is an explicit rape scene which I found incredibly hard to get through. The trigger list mentions non consensual sex but I feel that this downplays it. I think it could have easily been less explicit or closed door and still had the same impact on the story.
