The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake

3.0

2.5 stars. as a resident dark academic girlie, i went into this thinking i would L O V E it. and boy was i horribly wrong. 130 pages into this book, and i just wanted to quit. ultimately, this book felt like a whole lot of nothing. it was way too long, filled with way too much lengthy drivel.

Spoiler the dalton/parisa romance pulled me back in, along with the talk of the *gasp* murder

shortly after, it lost me again. it wasn't until like the last 30 pages of the book that i actually became invested in the ending. surprisingly, i picked up on some of the twists, but the end really picked up to a whole other level of what the fuck is happening. i had to reread a lot to make sure i understood the huge turns. i tentatively added the second book in the series to my list because i do have a lot of questions,
Spoiler mostly about what's going on with dalton
but also am worried that it'll be another miss overall.
