Perfect post-apocalypse book. It's based in old fashioned agricultural France of the middle of the cold war. A good story about surviving and human relations in a dead world where people try to re-build a civilization at their small level. Very nicely written, a bit old fashioned but delicious and always easy and beautifully written. Not boring, as usual for Robert Merle. You finish it with a lot of thoughts about mankind.
