Just couldn't connect with this one — in the end, it all was a bit too much of the Cinderella story for me.

Daniel was just a tad too perfect and also just too passive. He complains about not meeting Ali's friends and family but it also takes him the entire book to get off his ass and just meet them on his own terms.

You know I'm not here to always hate on the FMC's (the men can be just as bad! stop being delusional) and I don't even feel like I can properly hate on Alexis because she was just so unrealistic. Here's this 38 year old woman: she's rich as fuck, has worked in hospitals all her life, is invested in her patient's lives but also — wait for it! — doesn't know what a broom is. Girl???

All the side characters were really one-dimensional and I could've told Alexis the solution to her problem from like page 50.

Not the book for me.
