The Maze Runner
by James Dashner
what type of actual Doofenshmirtz ending was THATTTTT???? a button???? you're actually pulling my leg. everything those boys went through all went down to a button. "we lost so many people" well I'm so glad that the bad guys only go for minor characters that had three lines total. They said that half the people died and yet named almost no names. The losses don't mean anything if the characters you lost don't have names. Also, the main character's name is Thomas which I just cannot accept and to make it all the more worst he was named after THOMAS EDISON!! you're telling me that 500 years in the future thomas edison is still relevant enough to name someone after him? that thought is more sickening than anything else in this book. Also I feel like the author just wrote actual curse words then just did the "find and replace" option and replaced all the curse words with gibberish that gets old after 4 chapters. If i hear the word clunk or shuck one more time instead of actual curse words I'm going to throw something. also also i hate the thought that thomas was the only person who could solve the "maze" because all of his solutions are something that anyone of average intelligence could figure out. there are also just so many contradictions to this story that i don't really want to get into. also also also the phrase "W.I.C.K.E.D is good" is the stupidest on the nose thing that I've ever heard it doesn't have the weight she thinks it does and every time they bring it up it makes me hate it more. the plot twists fell flat but that's probably because they weren't predictable at the time. It's a copy and paste dystopian novel but i expected that going into it yk? i didn't like this but it wasn't the dislike i have for aftg i just didn't like it. I'll probably read the second book because like why not i love dylan obrien too much to not to. the last chapter was so out of nowhere and incomprehensible the only way I'm going to make sense of it is by watching the movie. this author doesn't know anything about solar flares.
