The Merger by Adriana Locke
5.0

š“š”šž šŒšžš«š šžš« is book four in Adriana Locke’s ridiculously addictive Brewer Brothers series, and it might just be my new favorite. Seriously, every time I think Adriana’s hit her peak, she casually proves me wrong. This one delivers the classic best friend’s grumpy older brother romance between Carys and Gannon. Between witty banter, crackling tension, and just the right sprinkle of angst, this book is pure, fun escapism.

Carys is officially one of my favorite heroines from Adriana Locke. She’s pure sunshine wrapped in sass, flirty and sharp, despite hauling around some serious emotional baggage from her dad. As a spirited young entrepreneur desperately trying to save her struggling plant-care business, she turns to none other than her best friend’s grumpy yet undeniably hot older brother, Gannon—a CEO who’s allergic to nonsense (and feelings).

The attraction between these two had me ready to combust. They’d been fighting their chemistry like champs until their "screw-it" moment lit the fuse. Suddenly, their casual friends-with-benefits arrangement turned explosive—feelings? What feelings? (Cue denial.)

Watching Gannon step up into this fiercely protective, genuinely caring guy was everything. And don’t even get me started on the rest of the Brewer brothers—especially Tate—whose hilarious text threads and playful sibling antics practically stole the spotlight. I loved every minute with these characters, and now I’m impatiently waiting for Tate’s story. Hurry up, Adriana—I’m ready!

šŸŽ§ā€œThe Mergerā€ was already a five-star read, but hearing it in audio? Easily bumped it to five-plus. Jack Calihan and Angelina Rocca completely ā€˜own’ their roles as Gannon and Carys, bringing all the banter, heat, and tension to life in the best way.

Jack nails Gannon’s gruff, protective vibe while still letting his soft side peek through—total grumpy-with-a-heart-of-gold energy. And Angelina as Carys? Flirty, sweet, and full of spark. Her voice radiates warmth and charm, perfectly matching Carys’ sunny, determined personality.

Their chemistry is electric, and every moment—from the playful teasing to the deeper emotional beats—lands. If you love age gaps, grumpy-sunshine tension, and a love story that simmers then sizzles, this audiobook delivers big. A must-listen for fans of the Brewers and anyone craving a fun, steamy romance with heart.
