My 11 year old son has really enjoyed me reading him this book. It has led to discussions about ww2 and the treatment of Jews which  I have carefully engaged in but I think that is good. History needs to be kept alive. He reguarly asked me to read him the next bit and didn't want us to stop so he was very engaged with it.
