I was pretty excited about this book after starting it and reading the first quarter or so, but somewhere after Lena meets Alex it gets kinda sappy and Lena loses herself in the delirium of love. Now, I'm all for love and totally against "curing" it, but I'm not a fan of teen fiction that encourages girls (and guys) to get completely swept away so much so that they abandon everything that was important to them before meeting "the one." Yes, in this case, Lena would essentially give up who she is if she were to submit to the cure, but I would have liked to see her decide to join the rebellion, not because of a boy, but because she wanted to remain herself. The foreshadowing with Romeo and Juliette was well done. Now the question is if this will continue as a series, leaving the possibility that Alex survived or end here as a true tragic love story.
