Lady Cop Makes Trouble by Amy Stewart

4.0

I love this series! I was so excited when I found out another installment in their story had been released and I was not disappointed. This story follows the lives of the Kopp sisters after their exciting adventure in Book 1 (Girl Waits with a Gun). Fluerrette has decided to learn acting and perform on the stage while continuing her sewing of beautiful dresses that are very impractical for living on their farm. Norma goes even deeper into raising her pigeons and keeps the farm running. Constance takes a job as "deputy" to the sheriff but runs into all kinds of trouble actually making that position a reality. Being the first woman to do anything is pretty hard. As she performs her duties as a ladies matron of the jail, she ends up entangled in the disappearance of a prisoner and holds herself responsible for bringing him back. This story focuses more on how she uses her detective skills to bring about justice and less on her and her sisters' lives. I can't wait for more stories involving her. The author also includes a list at the end that ties the real events and newspaper clippings into the fictional story. I highly recommend this series!
