Loretta's Stick That Walks (Loretta's Insects) by Lois Wickstrom. This author is my absolute favorite children's author. I will always buy her books for my grandchild. This one is no different. Its the story of Loretta who is at the park and she watching plant and see a ant carrying seeds along with eggs. She is fascinated with insects so she decides to take them home to see if she can get it to grow. While lovingly taking care of the seed and egg she is finding out the life cycle of a walking stick. Such a good educational book for young children. The illustrations are amazing as well and I can't wait for my grandson to be old enough that I can read this wonderful book to him. If you are a teacher and you are teaching the life cycle this would be the perfect book for your class.
