I think this is only the second short story I’ve ever rated 5 stars. This was phenomenal and leaves so much to think about when finished. Usually I always want short stories to be longer and feel a sense of incompleteness when they’re over, but this was perfection and said everything it needed.

This follows two girls, one black and one white, who continuing crossing paths, but their race is left unknown to the reader. You’re left to make your own assumptions in an attempt to figure out who’s who, which I think makes you look at internal biases and prejudices you may not realize you hold. I thought this was absolutely incredible.
