Read yourself happy is the stamp on the back of this book and I would say it achieves that goal. It is a heartwarming story about life long friendship and the ups and downs of life.
While the writing sometimes felt bulky with over explained paragraphs and simple dialogue the thread of the story was worth sticking with it as I became attached to the characters and their struggles.
Overall a good read especially for a holiday or as a pallet cleanser after something a bit heavier.
