This took me a really long time to get through. BKโs writing is just as sharp and witty in this as I became familiar with reading her fan fiction, but there was something that made this a bit of a slog to get through for me, despite enjoying her writing. The insults and banter were the main redeeming quality of this. In general, I felt like there was entirely way too much world building and plot for a book that essentially involves 2 character arcs. It boggles my mind that this is getting stretched into two books. I think maybe limiting this to single POV may have cut this story down quite a bit and made it more enjoyable for me.
