An excellent book for Christians and parents interested in hearing stories of raising children in the fullness of who they are. There’s a specific chapter for churches to read as a study, which I think is smart strategy toward churches looking to do this work. Overall the book leans more family memoir than theological study, but its author does a great job of building trust and offering relationships as the means toward understanding affirming church/life.

I do this work professionally (nurturing and pastoring affirming church communities and mentoring queer kids in church) and I think she really hit the mark! I almost had no notes.
