Will leave the review under a spoiler tag as I have lots of thoughts. LOTS!
I should've guessed from how long it took Tomi to write this that she was over this series. This book reads like the synopsis of a trilogy she meant to write after the Orïsha series. I didn't like that we weren't in Orïsha anymore. I didn't like that Tzain and Inan got their own chapters, and Roen just didn't exist anymore? I feel really disappointed because the book has so many ideas for in-depth character arcs and plot twists and we never got to see anything in any great detail. We got to see chapters of makeovers for Zeile but not of her training. We got a small mention of Amari's bisexuality that felt it was put in there for fans like me who saw it from book one. And Inan just redeemed himself by dying, and never having to do any of the work? All our fave characters are just 2D namechecks? I got whiplash from this book, and it's pretty obvious now I've finished that Tomi just wanted to get this over and done with. ARGH! Very frustrating as I really, really loved this series and the characters.
