Where book 1, The Roomate, came in HOT, The Intimacy Experiment was a sloooooooow burn, taking us to 70% before we get to the big event. There were a couple steamy scenes before that that left us frustrated in a good way. Ethan says he is no Saint, and he proves it by being downright dirty in his frank discussions on sex during sex, but he is just so GOOD in every other way that the author had to balance his good meter with his attractive meter and I think she does a good job with that. It took me a little bit to get interested. I’m a little bit of a prude so reading about a former porn star didn’t peak my interest, but the intimacy seminars had some really great nuggets of wisdom and didn’t come off preachy. While I can’t imagine such an open minded Rabbi in real life, after watching Nobody Wants This on Netflix and now reading this book, it may be my new kindle kink.
