Falling for the Geek by R. Cayden

4.0

This was such an easy romance to fall in love with and enjoy! It's very low angst, GFY/bi awakening, brother's best friend. Lot's to enjoy!
Cass is straight and his brother's best friend so of course Shaun crushed on him and ten years apart has not lessened that at all. Now they have to spend several months at his family's cabin, what could go wrong?
Shaun is his best friend's younger brother, just as adorable and geeky as the last time he saw him. The cabin is the perfect place for him to work while he takes the time to reset and make plans for his future.
There's a real ease and sense of comfort as the two men learn to be around each other again, developing a friendship all of their own. Everything that happens feels like a natural progression - Cass's attraction to Shaun, the spark and heat that they share, and the feelings that develop. I loved how they buoyed each other, allowing them to be themselves and talk about what they actually wanted from life without the pressures normally put upon them by work/academics/friends/family. The setting is beautiful and definitely helpful when it comes to Shaun's stargazing, a pastime that brings them together as they bond over the beauty that they see.
I really enjoyed reading this. It was so easy to fall into the story and the relationship that grows between them, regardless of how skittish Shaun is to begin with. Definitely a recommended read for me.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.
