Phantom
by H.D. Carlton
❗️SPOILER❗️
I was thrilled when I learned that H.D. Carlton just released a separate novel about Genevieve and Ronaldo's 'love affair’. The scandalous journal entries from the first book led me to anticipate that reading the details in this prequel would definitely make me hate Gigi's character even more. Unexpectedly, as I read through the chapters, I found myself rooting for them!
It’s déjà vu—reliving parts of Zade and Adeline's love story, set in the 1940s. And if I had read this book before Haunting Adeline, I would have thought Zade and Ronaldo must somehow be blood relatives—THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FREAKIN’ WAY THEY AREN’T!🤪 The only letdown for me was that it did not cover the exact details of Gigi's murder. Nonetheless, my expectations were met, and the bonus scene was a delightful surprise! I really missed Zade's banter with Adeline. 🥹🫶🏻🥂✨✨
