This book was an enjoyable story of redemption.
Jordan Cross has always known that she is an omega despite the fact that she is nearly twice the age when omegas usually present. The day that she has her appointment with the Design Clinic to discuss her genetics, she finally presents as an omega and collapses in the grocery store. Rafe Stargazer is one of the people who finds her and quickly realizes that she is his pack’s scent match. The problem is that Pack Stargazer told Jordan they found their omega 13 years ago to try to spare her pain. Now, they have to face the consequences of their actions and win over Jordan and her new alpha if they want any chance of being together.
I felt so bad for Jordan at a lot of points throughout this book. She wanted so badly to be an omega, but she never really had to deal with the realities of how omegas were treated in society. I really liked that she didn’t immediately fall into the arms of Pack Stargazer even though they were her scent matches. Her struggle around forgiving them felt very relatable. I do wish that there had been slightly more action to show how sorry they were, but I liked the actions that they did take. I also really enjoyed how they tried to get to know Icarus apart from Jordan. It really felt like they understood that they had royally effed up and they had to win over both Jordan and Icarus.
