Mean Streak by Sandra Brown

3.0

3.25/5 stars. I almost liked this book more than I did, but Brown's writing style is a little OTT for me. I am not opposed to a little romance in the books I read, but this book veered into cheesy Harlequin Romance territory, and I could definitely have done without the graphic cringe-worthy sex scene towards the end. Sometimes, less is definitely more. Also, while I generally liked the story line, I was a bit uncomfortable with how Brown rushed the main character's feelings towards her "rescuer". It felt a bit like she is encouraging the concept of female rape fantasies. She is being held by a stranger and is worried he might sexually assault her, but wait...he has rugged good looks and unusual blue eyes. Really?
