The Narrows by Michael Connelly

4.0

My first ever "Harry Bosch" novel, also the first of Michael Connelly's works I've read. It was a bit of a mixed bag, but a good read overall. The main character comes off as cocky and arrogant at first, but I slowly started warming up to him. The story started off a bit slow but by the middle of the story the pace picked up quite significantly, only to end rather flatly. I found myself slightly underwhelmed by the ending which feels like it lacked a bit of closure, which was disappointing considering the build-up leading to the final few chapters. I might give the series another shot if I find a book that intrigues me.
