The Troop

Well hot damn, talk about a way to kickstart the 2021 reading year. I adore horror literature and I’ve never had to skip a scene while reading it because it was too much. I did that with this book, only once, but there were multiple others that were hard to sit through (also listening to most of it on audio was a whole other experience that really heightened everything, highly recommend). An incredibly effective piece of horror that really delivers on the intensely detailed descriptions it needs to stick the landing. I was skeptical to its reputation going in, and at least for me, it really did live up to it. Not for the feint of heart, but if you think you’re up for it then I highly recommend.
