Another disappointing read. I really enjoyed "Children of Blood and Bone" despite its terrible YA / Fantasy tropes as the mythology was so rich and the characters interesting, and thus was looking forward to "Children of Virtue and Vengeance". But this was just weak.
The world building is all over the place, the story doesn't make too much sense, all characters are irrationally out of character, new characters are introduced in a sentence that are supposedly super important,... I'm annoyed. I hated everyone in book, maybe except Roën. Where this is supposed to go, I have no idea! Sad! :O Chapters are super short, motivations are unclear, why can't people just talk to each other? Why is vengeance so important? And there's no virtue to be found....
Anybody else had this experience? I'm feeling quite lost.
