This was interesting. It kept my interest all the way through to determine what medical issues Akin suffered from.

The characters were interesting as they are from a different culture from my own and I felt I have learned a lot about Nigeria from the Fiction novel (although there is still much to learn).

I liked the beliefs that were discussed in this book surrounding Yejide becoming pregnant, how she should go about it, and some of the ideas that she actually attempted.

Arranged marriages are something I rarely read about. The use of arranged marriage here was understandable for the culture, but I felt that Moomi did not see the full picture as to why pregnancy had not yet happened and seemed to put all the blame on Yejide, rather than the Akin and Yejide as a couple, of Akin on his own. This is something I do understand as a cultural thing, but I still would've enjoyed that conversation being a part of the story.

There is a death that did not occur as it originally appeared and it was never discussed further. I felt there could've been more to that part of the story.

The ending wasn't as shocking as I had hoped, it was foreshadowed right before the event, which I didn't enjoy. However, there were a few moments were my jaw dropped and I was shocked at what was going on.

At times, the story moved a little slowly for my tastes, but it did end up being an enjoyable read.
