The ending of this story is phenomenal and worth 5 stars. Unfortunately it took me almost 60% of the novel to find the plot less then cringeworthy. Klune has the ability to redeem the most difficult characters, but the setting and theme of this novel in particular just took so long to become interesting for me. And I feel there is a major plot hole in why reapers can physically interact with both the living and the dea but ferrymen cannot... Mainly it serves the purposes of the plot without really being plausible to me.
