Where the Forest Meets the Stars
by Glendy Vanderah
I do not know how to feel about this one.. I mean I was interested in Ursa's story and what happened to her, I found this part quite intriguing and gripping. But, the Gabe-Joanna situation, I did not care for at ALL. There were some aspects that just felt weird to me, like the out of nowhere gun discussion, the way Joanna was telling Gabe how to feel about his family & the romanticization of the trauma he witnessed as a child... It just didn't set well with me. That's not something that would get solved just by saying "Oh how lovely! It's love and they actually love you so much!" Then boom, all is good. No.. we need therapy.. like long years of therapy to reach that conclusion.
I think if we focused more on Ursa, I would've liked it more.
